What's been going?

So it's been awhile. I don't like to post without pictures because quite frankly, posts are boring without pics. Would you visit my page if I didn't have pics?

So here are a few pics to sum up what has occurred since my last post. Click on the picture to get a full view:

Here we have Hannah's bday on Dec 1 at Hooter's. It was a cold and very rainy day.

Here we are at Julia's Briday Party at The Daily Review Cafe on Dec 5.

Here I am at Eddie and Jessica's wedding celebration on Dec 12 at Hotel Icon
And another one
Finally, at Michael's cousin's bday dinner at Beavers. Her name is Lysa, btw.

So yeah. Not quite so thrilling, right? That's what happens when you can't drink and your clothes start to get tighter and tighter.

It's all about the kids

Kids taking pictures with the grandparents.

Daddy in training.

Future playmates

Baby in a bowl.

With added fruit, we call it baby fruit bowl.

Kids were the main focus this year at Thanksgiving. Last year we only had one. This year we had 3, plus one who was born one day prior. So that's a grand total of 4! We surprised our family at Thanksgiving dinner that by next year, there will be five.

That's right. I'm contributing next year.

Opening Night

Here are two pics from the Cinema Arts Festival opening night last week.

I really enjoyed the movies we watched. "Me and Orson Welles" is worth watching when it comes out next month. It's a comedy set in the '20s. Zac Efron is in there folks. If that's the only way to get you to watch it.

We then watched "Teknolust" with Tilda Swinton. She played 4 different characters. She is unbelievable and quite tall. She's almost 5'11" and when she wears heels she towers. She looks just as great in person as she does in her movies. "Teknolust" is very feminist, so be warned fellas.

Cinema

The husband surprised me with by buying us both badges for the Houston Cinema Arts Festival this week. Yay! Tonight we are going to the screening of Me and Orson Welles at the MFAH. Followed by the post screening reception.

Later this week we will be seeing the Tilda Swinton movie. They won't tell us the name, though, because it's suppose to show have it's big screening at Sundance? Something like that. Anyway, I'm happy we are busy with movie screenings and not drinking.

Hopefully, I get take pics.

Lastly, I leave you with a picture of me and the husband at his birthday party. I had been waiting patiently to wear my March by Marc Jacobs dress. I found it at Barneys Co-Op in San Marcos. The belt was added to make it more fitted. The dress looks better in person.

Special Dinner Date

The first picture I took quickly prior to us leaving. Excuse the small mirror and mess. We currently live in an old 1920 duplex that lacks in space. I can't wait to move into our own home.
The second picture is outside of Spotlight Karaoke with a couple of friends.
I took the husband out for his bday this past Tuesday at Textile. It was an awesome dinner and experience. If you live in Houston, look it up. After dinner we met up several friends at the karaoke place.
That's just the warm-up. We still have his party at The Tasting Room on Sat.

Peaches

Went to Peaches concert last night. It was unbelievable. Gaga got nothing on her. Even though I had not heard her newest album completely, I enjoyed all of her songs. M.E.N. opened for them. They are a band to keep an eye out for. I met the guitarist, who is Japanese. She was selling their band's merchandise. Cool chick.

Today is the husband's bday. I have approximately 45 mins to get ready. Not enough time :)

Movie date

The husband and I made it a movie night Sunday. After drinking so many days last week, we had to end it with a movie.

A great movie at that.

The young boy that plays the main character, Max, is unbelievable. He totally played the crazy/misunderstood/lonely boy well. The creatures in this movie are even better. I really do like James Gandolfini as Carol. I could not pinpoint the other actors/actresses playing the other characters. The ending was a tear jeker. Of course, I did not cry. I can't seem to, but it did touch my heart.

Next up....

Bicycle Ride

So here I am on my bike, minus the basket. This was taken the day it was returned to me. I took it out this past weekend. Sunday to be more precise. It was a dry, dark and chilly day. The first time we went, we took Cooper, our dog, out for a spin. Well, the husband did. He rode his bike while pulling Cooper.

Second go around we rode throughout the neighborhoods. I was so focused on riding my bike (it has been years since) that I didn't even know where we were at.

We stopped at Te House of Teas to quence my thirst. I always get thirsty when I'm moving. Whether it's shopping or riding my bike.

After that we went home because we needed to go to Rice Village. He suggested maybe next time we can ride there. Next time....

Sheecago

Our one year anniversary is coming up (so soon already?). Time flies, really flies. The first year in marriage is all about the two of us. Having fun as a married couple. Introducing him as my 'husband'. That took getting used to. I believe I have it down now. I don't get this weird feeling anymore when I say it.

It was like starting a new relationship.

To celebrate our anniversary he booked us a trip over the weekend. I had been wanting to go New Orleans and so I thought he booked us a trip there. Last night I found out he didn't. He wanted it to be a surprise. Of course, me being a girl, I tried to guess. He gave me a hint: It's somewhere north of us. Hmmmm, we are pretty much as south as you can get. That could be anywhere!!

After much deliberation, he decided to let me know. I had to know what clothes to bring right??

So our anniversary will be spent in Chicago. I'm looking foward to it. Especially the fall weather.

Envy of all

Pictures courtesy of livejournal.com/community/ohnotheydidnt

The above pictures are from Tim Burton's Harper's Bazaar layout. These costumes cost a few thousand, but will get you many envious looks. I'm totally in love with all of them. I couldn't post the rest, but the website is available underneath the pics.

I'm not one to take Halloween seriously. Although,if the above costumes were available to me, I would be happier than a pig in shit.

If you haven't noticed all are based off of his movie characters.

Instant Poof

I was at a friend's house last night and the commercial for Bumpits kept showing. I mean literally everytime the show breaked for commercial it came on. It was like they were trying to brainwash me into buying it. Well, it looks like it may have worked. I'm very curious.

I've never bought anything off television before. (Somehow I have a feeling Bed Bath and Beyond will be carrying this soon)

I do like to have volume in my hair, but weather here does not permit. Not unless you have an economy size backcomb spray from Big Sexy. It takes me at least 3-4 days of not washing my hair to get it poofy after teasing. This of course requires planning.

Back on topic...

Bumpits look easy. At least it does on television. Check out the instruction below:

They have like a buy one get one free special. If it turns out well, I may pass it on :) Otherwise, don't be surprised if you open my Christmas gift to you and you find this.

So 90s

Nylon Magazine recently posted, on their FB account, a story on deep purple lipstick.

I must say I was so happy to hear this may be coming back. This shade was my first color of choice way back in high school. I feel this will replace the red shade I used to wear. I will always love you red, but purple has always been my first. <3

It's very nineties with the plaid shirts, ripped shorts and Doc Martens. Oh the memories. The shade I used to wear is still available at your local Walgreens/CVS, Revlon-Black Cherry, more <3.

It doesn't have to cost me more than $10.

Lost and not Found

This site is confusing. I can't figure out the whole following other blogs. I manage to somehow do it, but I can't remember how. I just click click click.

I will become at expert, eventually.

Now I'm off to eat my room service.

Hipsterism

Degrees of hipster has been the topic for the last few days. I'll admit that we are somewhere in between barely hipster to full blown out hipster. Heck, I just got my hipster bike in today. I'll even add a basket.

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=hipster

Totally hilarious website. I do fall into a few of the descriptions. The husband calls me a hipster. To that I reply, " To a certain degree".

Now off I go on my bike to a coffee house to read my Nylon mag and smoke Parliaments.

Not your ordinary nerd

As of this year, I've read roughly around 13 books. I am so happy to pick up my hobby once more. Most of the books I've read are Sci-Fi/Fantasy. I've always had an intrest in this genre, but never really went full force. Now, I've gone berserk. I must note, though, that I do read murder/mystery novels to get me out of fantasy land.

I just finished "The Way of Shadows" by Brent Weeks. The Night Angel trilogy about assassins in a magicaland. There are witches, magic and fantasy creatures. The author is very descriptive to the point where I see myself skipping over a few lines. I did get confused a little about where certain cities where or what order the government were. After catching on, it's a pretty fun ride.

So now that's finished. I switch on over to "Lost Souls" by Poppy Z. Brite (this book was recommended to me). Totally opposite of the former. A vampire story with crazy ass characters. There are gay scenes and incest. If you are ok with that, then this book is a fun read. It's a dark and emotional read, that I welcome it. It's so different from what is currently out there.

I've been lucky to have found books so opposite of each other. It keeps me wanting more and my imagination flying.

Est. 2007

Who know I had this page for 2yrs. After reading several of my friends pages, I realized that I created a page as a wedding site. It was to inform our friends and family any new updates on our wedding. Well, it never happened. It sounded like a good idea at the time.

I've always enjoyed writing blogs. Let's see if I can tap into it again. In the meantime, check out my new purchase:

Eeek! I can't wait to ride around Montrose with it. I will be adding a basket later. I will be purchasing a lock soon. Thievery is common in this area.
